Fieldbook to AIThe plain-English guide to which AI to use

Time-savers

Get a weekly news digest on what you follow

Every Monday you get a short email with the notable news on the companies or topics you pick, each with a link.

Last updated .

Costs here use the prices AI companies charge software developers, so they show relative cost, not your monthly bill. See what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini charge you.

What it does for you

Searches the web for last week's news on each company or topic on your list, keeps up to three items for each with a source link, and says so when nothing happened.

Time saved

Replaces a round of manual searching each week. We have not measured the time saved yet.

What it costs to run

Model to start withCost for 100 topics
Sonar Pro$2.55
Gemini 3.8 Flash$0.70 (about 70 cents)

A model that searches the web and cites sources finds the news; a cheap model can then tidy the digest. Estimate assumes about 1,000 tokens in and 1,500 tokens out per item (a token is about three-quarters of a word), at list prices. Real usage will differ.

How to build it

You will need: Make or n8n (automation apps, set to run weekly); Email or Slack

  1. Schedule it for Monday morning.
  2. For each company or topic, ask the search model for last week's notable news with links.
  3. Combine the answers and ask a cheap model to remove repeats and put the most important first.
  4. Email or message the digest to yourself.
